1. How do you ensure that you reaching your daily wellness goal?
Before I start my day and get out of bed I make a habit to log in first thing every morning on my phone. I read my cards, do a journey step and check off my habits I know I will accomplish during the day. I check a second time just before bed to check off other goals I achieved.
2. What are some tips you can share with persons embarking on their wellness goal?
Find goals that are easy to make but have a few that will challenge you. Journeys are good because they give you ideas and reminders you may not have thought about.
3. Has the wellness program influenced any other areas of your life?
Yes for sure. The journeys have encouraged me to eat healthier and the meditation journeys have reminded me to slow down and balance life. Health is more than just what you are eating it's also a matter of sleeping well to feel refreshed, meditating to maintain peace of mind and finding small ways to keep moving and active. The program is designed to create a holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle.
4. Which of the CG Zest Wellness resources have helped you during the COVID-19 lockdown and curfew?
Just keeping up with the journeys, reading my cards and remembering keep active to get the steps in but also find ways to remain mindful and find inner peace and calmness (especially when life outside is crazy and there are things you have no control over like curfews and Covid restrictions).
5. What keeps you motivated to exercise while working from home?
I have two active sons and a dog that keep me on the go all day long. I am not a runner but I am constantly moving and doing something. Just getting up every hour to do stuff around the house so you are not sitting all day helps.
6. What feature of the CG Zest Wellness app do you recommend to those working from home? Why
Some of the healthy habits I have to keep active but maintain a life balance are things with meditation (taking deep breaths when stressed), walking every hour, taking time to be with pets or walk outside, reminder to take stairs, and do something calming like drinking tea. All are good reminders to keep moving and maintain a healthy holistic lifestyle.
The program is designed to help you reach your points goal. The first week of every month I make sure I check my weight and blood pressure. Just by doing it, you get an easy 250-750 points and if you have good (or improve) blood pressure and BMI those are easy points to get to reach your goal.
7. What is one simple tip you would suggest to CG Zest Wellness members to help them get 10,000 steps every day?
Just keep moving, wash the dishes, go for a walk every little step and movement adds up! And if you don't make 7,000 steps today tomorrow is a new day to try again.
