Honey Oat Bread

To help improve at-home nutrition and self-efficiency while at home, Donovan Ingraham, Zest Wellness Coordinator has brought his father, Chef Don L. Ingraham on screen. Follow along as the pair bake a healthy, honey oat bread from scratch.

The hope is that not only become better equipped with healthy eating habits but to embark on preparing your own bread at home. This can significantly decrease the number of trips that must be taken to the grocery store and therefore decrease the risk of infection. Not to mention, baking bread is a great family bonding activity!

Homemade Honey Oat Bread

Ingredients for the bread:

  • 3 Cups Flour

  • 3/4 Cup Oatmeal

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons of Active Yeast

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 1/2 Cup Vanilla Almond Milk

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1/4 Cup Honey

  • 1 Large Egg

 Ingredients for the glaze:

  • 3 tablespoons honey (warm)

  • 2 tablespoons Oatmeal

  • Enjoy your homemade bread!
