The Fuelled Iron Monkey Smoothie 2.0

Drink your greens first thing! Serves 1-2 & this is my favorite daily morning recipe. It is what I eat for breakfast 6 days out of 7 and I LOVE the flavor and the nutrient-loaded nature of it!

Ingredients:

  • 3 Fresh or frozen bananas

  • 1 whole pink grapefruit, peeled but leave the whitish stuff on it

  • 3-4 dried prunes

  • 2 very large handfuls of organic spinach (but kale works well too!) so that’s equal to about 1-3 cups of organic spinach (Pro-tip - you can freeze spinach in its container! It will last longer and not die in the fridge)

  • 2 chunks of frozen pineapple 🍍🍍 if you have it,

  • 1/4 cup of pineapple juice (Dole is a good brand, non-GMO and not from concentrate)

  • Water to the point of being about 2/3 as high as the other ingredients in your blender

  • 1 handful of raw almonds

  • 2 teaspoons of chia seeds

  • Topped off with whatever nuts I have, plus pumpkin and chia seeds for some additional powerful plant protein, fat, fiber, and detox action.

  • Avocado is amazing in this too, and a must if you use kale. So creamy. πŸ₯‘πŸ₯‘

Directions:

Blend it all up until smooth in your blender, except for the almonds and chia seeds, and then toss the raw almonds into the blender when the smoothie is done and pulse them 3 times to turn them into chunks, and then toss in 2 tsp of chia seeds. 🌰🌰🌰🌰That way you chew your smoothie instead of guzzling it....and that activates the key enzymes in your mouth (in saliva) that help break things down...and therefore you absorb more of those amazing nutrients into your body in the digestive tract that you could be missing if you simply guzzle your smoothie.πŸ€“πŸ€“ I often top it off with more nuts if I’ve done more exercise than morning/am hungrier I always make a huge blender full and then I have some for the next day as it will still be fresh in the morning of kept refrigerated. 🌟🌟

This is a nutrient powerhouse and it packs a punch, nutritionally speaking πŸ₯ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ₯Š Full of fiber, good fats (feel free to blend in Udos oil or flaxseed oil too!), plant proteins, anti-aging/free radical destroying antioxidants, immune-boosting vitamin C, blood building iron, potassium, and other minerals and lots of vitamins. Plus it’s hydrating πŸ’§πŸ’§, delicious tasting πŸ‘πŸ‘, and detoxifying. πŸ₯¬πŸ₯¬πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸŠπŸŠπŸŒ°πŸŒ°πŸ₯‘πŸ₯‘πŸπŸ A seriously smart way to start your day!! ⚑ Always adjust the portion to your personal activity level, hunger level upon eating breakfast, and appetite to ensure you don't overdo it and cause discomfort in the body. Eat only until you are comfortably full. Oh! And bananas are an excellent source of "prebiotics" which are a type of plant fiber that feeds the good bacteria in your gut β€πŸ’–πŸ’– That means they help keep your gut flourishing...πŸŒ±πŸŒ±β˜€Just so long as the bananas aren’t speckled or brownish. πŸ’–πŸ’– Enjoy!
