Diabetes Management in Quarantine

Diabetes Management in Quarantine

What do Tom Hanks, Randy Jackson, Patti La Belle, and I have in common?

(Hint in blog title)..... You guessed it.....Diabetes! A whopping 422 million people globally have diabetes.  Everyone with diabetes, including those with type 1, type 2, and gestational, are at risk of developing a severe illness if they get coronavirus, but the way it affects you can vary from person to person.  You are not alone in this situation.

Having a chronic disease like diabetes does not stop you from enjoying good health and wellness.  Let's start with that.  It's important to know that "uncontrolled diabetes" is considered "high risk" especially in relation to COVID-19 (that pesky pandemic!).  You CAN get in control of your diabetes AND lower that risk!

We understand it is hard.  As a nurse and someone who has been diagnosed with a type of diabetes during pregnancy (gestational diabetes) I understand the day to day challenges of diabetes.

You might feel worried or frustrated.  Don't know where to start? Where is there helpful information?

We hear you!  This is why we created an at home with diabetes checklist to help you or a loved one "get in control" of diabetes even as we "stay at home"?
