Loneliness and Connection
Did you know that loneliness is increasingly being recognized as a priority public health problem across all age groups around the world? In the Caribbean specifically, 40% of the elderly population experience feelings of isolation with the stigma of mental health adding to these feelings of loneliness as individuals are less likely to seek help or discuss their struggles.
This week at CG Zest Wellness, we turn our attention to the topic of loneliness and connection, why we should talk about them, the consequences and stigmas around loneliness, and the importance of gaining connectedness.
Join us this Wednesday for our Q2 Virtual webinar as we cover the topic of loneliness and connection. We'll go deeper into how this topic affects us where we live while working to build a foundation for connecting with others in our community and beyond. Register here.
Our partners at Virgin Pulse recently held their annual Thrive Event where the one and only Kevin Bacon spoke on the infinite power of connection. They sat down with Kevin a few months earlier where he unveiled 7 invaluable insights and suggestions that we can all use to unlock the true potential of human connection in our lives. Read all about it here!
The Zest Wellness team has also put together a comprehensive list of mental health resources across our jurisdictions found on our Wellness Resources page for any member of our community to access.
We can’t wait to connect with more members and our communities!
